“A TASTE OF LUXURY, SERVED CASUALLY”

Noisette

Welcome to Day 5 of 12 Days of Christmas Cocktails! If I haven’t said it before I am a bit of a Francophile! I dreamed of going to Paris my whole life and when I finally went I was blown away! I loved waking up every morning and walking about 10 feet from my AirBNB to the amazing café to have a late night and people watch. I saw something called a ‘noisette” on the menu and I asked what it was. The waiter said it was espresso with chocolate, hazelnut, and cream. The other great thing about France, Europe in general, is if you love Nutella it’s everywhere! Since it’s been nice and cold I thought this would be a great idea for a spiked coffee! For a comforting take and a Parisian treat try my version of a Noisette! Enjoy!

1oz Hazelnut Liqueur

0.5oz Creme de Cacao

6oz Hot Coffee

2oz Cream

1oz Drambuie

1 Egg White

Garnish: Ground Nutmeg

Brew a pot of coffee or make a cup using a Keurig. Add the hazelnut liqueur and creme de cacao and set aside. The next part you can do two ways. The first is using a cocktail shaker. Pour the cream, drambuie, and egg white in and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. It should be a very soft shiny thick foam. The second is to whip everything in a bowl using a whisk almost like a meringue. Using a spoon, scoop this mixture gently over the top of the coffee and sprinkle with nutmeg. Serve and enjoy!

Notes: You can make the frothed cream mixture in a large batch if you are making multiple drinks for a group of people. If you have an immersion blender or an electronic mixer you can use that for the cream mixture for really quick results. If you would desire something sweeter I suggest adding a teaspoon of brown sugar to the hot coffee.
