“A TASTE OF LUXURY, SERVED CASUALLY”

Holiday Negroni

It’s day 2 of 12 Days of Christmas Cocktails! Today is a holiday twist on the Negroni. To come Christmas and the holidays always means rich delicious food and olive oil is always a part of that. I decided to fat wash the gin with olive oil to give it that added flavor and creamy texture! This is the trickiest part only because it needs to be done the day before. The other twist is the addition of cranberry juice and rosemary to liven the drink up for festivities! I also chose a Negroni style drink because it’s an easy batched cocktail which makes it great for a holiday party! The conversions for the batched Holiday Negroni are at the bottom of the post. Enjoy!

Ingredients

-1.5oz Olive Oil Fat Washed Gin

-1oz Compari or other Bitter Orange Liqueur

-1oz Carpano Antica Formula or other Sweet Vermouth

-0.5oz Unsweetened Cranberry Juice

-1 Sprig Fresh Rosemary

-Garnish: Orange Wheel, Orange Peel, or Rosemary Sprig

Strip the rosemary leaves from the wood stem into a cocktail shaker. Add cranberry juice and muddle. Add the gin, Compari, and vermouth. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Fill a lowball/old fashioned glass with ice and strain the cocktail into the glass. Garnish and enjoy!

Notes: I used Barhill Gin for my Olive Oil Fat Washed Gin because I enjoy that subtle honey essence it has. Negronis are also great as a batch cocktail for a party. Use the measurements I have below and pour them into a sealed container. Take a couple sprigs of Rosemary and slap them to release the oils and add to the jar. Shake and store in the fridge till ready to serve over ice.

Batched Holiday Negroni (8 Servings)
