Chicory Syrup

Ingredients

1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup Water
1tbsp Ground Roasted Chicory

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.
  3. Once cooled, strain out the chicory by pouring the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer.
  4. Transfer the strained syrup to a sealed container and store in the refrigerator for up to one month.

Notes:

  • If ground roasted chicory isn’t available in your local grocery store, you can easily find it online.
